Fleabag

How utterly brilliant was the second series of Fleabag that finished last night? Last night's episode, and episode 3 were the best telly I've seen in a long, long time. One liners to die for, the fantastic asides to the camera from Fleabag (with the Priest then saying, "Where did you just go?"). And the fox at the end... simply magical.

A few quotes from the show:

“Women are born with pain built in … period pain, sore boobs, childbirth. [Men] have to seek it out … then they create wars, so they can feel things and touch each other, and when there aren’t any wars, they can play rugby.”

Woman in Bar: "People are all we've got so grab the night by the nipples and go and flirt with someone."

Fleabag: "I'm thirty-three, which isn't exactly..."

Woman in Bar: (Interrupting her): "What had Jesus done by thirty-three?"

Fleabag: "Died?"

Woman in Bar: "Exactly. So get out there and flirt!"

The Priest: “Love is awful. It’s painful. Frightening. It makes you doubt yourself, judge yourself, distance yourself from the other people in your life. Makes you selfish, makes you creepy, makes you obsessed with your hair.” It takes strength to know what’s right. And love isn’t something that weak people do. Being a romantic takes a hell of a lot of hope.”

Spectacular writing, and delivered perfectly. All hail Fleabag!
